Link'd Up, 10/5/09: Eli's MRI
The biggest play of the Giants' season to date just happened off the field. Touchdown, Big Blue.
Quarterback Eli Manning announced on Michael Kay's radio show this afternoon that his bruised right heel is actually plantar fasciitis, a condition that inflames the heel and causes pain walking or running -- or planting to throw a football, as it were.
Not a rosy diagnosis. But it's certainly better than a torn Achilles' tendon, the debilitating injury on the lips of so many Giants fans in the last 24 hours. Whether or not Eli plays against the Raiders on Sunday, the news is better than it could have been.
